What We Stand For:

Radical Therapy - We approach mental wellness with a dash of rebellion because “normal” isn’t included in our vocabulary. We challenge societal norms and dismantle oppressive structures, all while encouraging personal and social transformation. Together, we’ll create a unique path that honors your authenticity.

Queer Affirmation - We honor and embrace all identities, orientations, and expressions. Your story is a masterpiece, and we’re here to help you paint it in technicolor.

Kink & Sex-Positivity - Let’s break free from the shackles of shame! We believe in an open and honest conversation about sexuality and relationships. Here, we talk about consent, desires, boundaries, kinks, and everything in between with a sprinkle of playful curiosity.

Intersectionality - Intersectionality is the shining kaleidoscope of human experience, where various identities and social systems overlap to create a vibrant tapestry of personal narratives. We believe it’s essential to recognize that individuals don’t exist in isolation—we delve into how race, gender, class, sexual orientation, ability, and other identities interact, often amplifying experiences of privilege or oppression and shaping our mental health and well-being.

Equity - Valuing equity isn't just about equally balancing the scales—it's about recognizing the unique needs and circumstances of each individual. It’s not about everyone getting the same cookie from the jar, but rather understanding who needs a bigger cookie and who needs a consistent and sustainable food source.

Harm Reduction - Harm reduction through an anti-carceral, anti-institutional approach revolves around the desire to break down existing power structures that criminalize behaviors associated with poverty, addiction, and mental health struggles. We embrace the idea that people are the experts in their own lives and that support should empower individuals rather than criminalize their circumstances.

At Ember and Moon Counseling, we unapologetically celebrate the wonderfully wild tapestry of human experience. We’re here to hold space for the vibrant, the curious, the queer, and the unconventional.
